I'm a 1965 graduate of Hoover High School. I have been married three times and divorced twice. I was married to my third wife, Missie, for 30 years until she passed away on December 26, 2010, due to breast cancer. in 1967, after attending Mesa Community College for two years, my wife, Susan Kotts (1964 Hoover High School graduate) and I left San Diego and moved to San Luis Obispo where I majored in Architecture at Cal Poly State University. After four years I decided I did not want a future in Architecture and I took a job as a Deputy Sheriff in San Luis Obispo County on January 1, 1971, Thirty-five years later on December 31, 2005, I semi-retired from my career in law enforcement after working 14 years for the Sheriff's Department and 21 years as a criminal investigator for the District Attorney's Office. At the time of my semi-retirement, I was the Assistant Chief Investigator at the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office.
